Volunteering Opportunites
Being a volunteer firefighter requires dedication, commitment, and a willingness to drop everything in a moment’s notice to respond to someone’s call for help or a community emergency. Our volunteers receive specialized training to respond to any emergencies. We are on call 24\7 and respond to emergencies as they arise.
Full Members:
Full members have completed 6 months of probation and have met all requirements during the probationary period. Are voted on by members. Must make 15% of calls for each month or combined three month average. Have voting rights during monthly business meetings.
Probationary Members:
Probation members are voted on during monthly business meeting. The probation period is for 6 months. Probationary members are required to attend all meetings and trainings unless approved absent by training Captain. Make 15% of calls. Complete ICS 100,200,700,800. Firefighter cancer awareness, Courage to be Safe and National Incident Traffic Training Management. And have a CPR card. Has no voting privileges till voted on as a full member.
Junior Members:
Must be between the ages of 16 and 18 years old at the time of application. Juniors will not partake in emergency responses unless the officer in charge deems it appropriate. Junior years are the time to learn. Juniors should participate in any and all training courses with the department as well as any eligible courses at the Fire Academy, without affecting their scholastic requirements. All juniors must submit a work permit in order to join, and must also submit school report cards. Any junior whom we feel that their grades are suffering due to fire department activities will not be permitted to participate in department activities until such grades improve.
