Protect. Serve. Belong.

Find Your Place at Station 70.

At Hood County Volunteer Fire Department, Station 70, we offer both active and support volunteer roles. Whether you’re driven to be on the front lines fighting fires or passionate about helping through community outreach, there’s a place for you here. Join a team where your time, talents, and heart for service truly matter.

From battling wildfires, structure fires, accidents, hazardous material incidents, and responding to medical emergencies. We also conduct fire prevention and community outreach programs. Volunteer firefighters wear many hats and perform a wide range of essential tasks to keep their communities safe.

Being a volunteer firefighter requires dedication, commitment, and a willingness to drop everything in a moment’s notice to respond to someone’s call for help or a community emergency. Our volunteers receive specialized training to respond to any emergencies. We are on call 24\7 and respond to emergencies as they arise.

Firefighting is an international brotherhood of people, both paid and volunteers, who have dedicated their lives to helping to prevent loss of life and the protection of property, sometimes at great risk to themselves. Station 70 firefighters place themselves in harm’s way, rushing to the aid of total strangers every single day.

Our department is made up of a group of very dedicated volunteers who respond to a variety of calls for assistance in the Station 70 area and northern Hood County. We have multiple pieces of firefighting apparatus that respond, along with the volunteers who respond from their own homes to provide the necessary manpower. Our department is small in numbers but large in dedication and participation by all members. Our responding members handle fire suppression, medical emergencies and public fire prevention education and general fire department tasks.
